Teaching grant successful [loc-004F]

I'm happy to report that the small grant I applied for with Charles Martin was successful. We will get a few thousand dollars to set up a teaching activity where students will program with punch cards again.

The key to this approach will be having only one card reading/program executing machine for all students, who must then book computer time just like in the old days of batch processing. I also thing there's something important about the physicality of punching holes in cards that students might appreciate. It's also LLM-proof programming, so there's that.
