My collection of vintage computers are now safely situated in my new home in Dickson. This week I purchased some new furniture to house some of my most prized machines. At some point I will make a database of everything I've got here in my forest, but here's a photo of some of my lab in the mean time:

I've lived in Canberra for over a year, and yet I never saw the Gang-gang Cockatoo, the ACT's faunal emblem since 1997, despite seeing parrots of all sorts on my walks around the city's various natural areas.

Fortunately, when I was walking on the Dickson bike path today, I saw a couple on a nearby gum-tree, behaving completely oblivious to the city bustle around them.

Dicit Dóminus: Ego cógito cogitatiónes pacis, et non afflictiónis: invocábitis me, et ego exáudiam vos: et redúcam captivitátem vestram de cunctis locis.

This Sunday we were few in numbers at All Saints Ainslie but we sang well for Anna Þorvaldsdottir's Heyr þú oss himnum á, doing our best at the Icelandic pronunciation:

Heyr þú oss himnum á	Hear us in heaven,
hýr vor faðir, börn þín smá,	loving Father, as we, your small children,
lukku oss þar til ljá,	ask for the fortune
lif eilíft þér erfum hjá,	to receive eternal life.
og að þér aldrei flæmumst frá.	We shall not stray from your path.
Þitt ríki þróist hér	May we help your kingdom
það þín stjórn og kristni er,	to grow here on earth.
svo að menn sem flestir,	Following your guidance,
safnist, Guð, til handa þér,	we gather around in your name
fegin yfir því fögnum vér.	and gladly celebrate.
Síst skarta sönglist má,	We cannot make a joyful song
sé þar ekki elskan hjá,	unless we are moved by love.
syngjum þvi þýtt lof þá,	So let us sing our gentle praise
Þér, Guð drottinn, himnum á.	to you, Lord God, in heaven,
Maður rétt kristinn mun þess gá.	as the truly faithful have done.
En þegar aumir vér,	When our poor souls
öndumst burt úr heimi hér,	pass away from this world,
oss tak þá, Guð, að þér	take us God to you,
í þá dýrð, sem aldrei þver.	into your everlasting glory.
Amen, Amen, það eflaust sker.	Amen, Amen, may this be done.

We also are going to be thin on numbers for Christ the King next week, and I will be directing. I welcome any anthem suggestions that aren't too reliant on sopranos in particular.
